GENERAL DESCRIPTION
This new bridge project incorporates 1.606 miles of construction consisting of the main span of the Sidney Lanier Bridge, the remaining portions of the south and north approach bridge, a bridge inspection traveler & protective islands on SR 25/US 82/US 17 over the Brunswick River in Brunswick.  This high level bridge (185 Ft over water) is a cable stayed bridge with a main span of 1,250 Ft carrying four (4) lanes of traffic over a very busy navigable waterway that is the main entrance to the Port of Brunswick.
