The project includes excavation, backfilling of foundations, installation of piling and construction of footings, columns and abutments; pre-casting, delivery and erection of superstructures, including all cast-in-place concrete, temporary and permanent post tensioning; pre-casting, delivery and erection of concrete beams and cast-in-place concrete decks; furnishing, delivery and erection of steel plate girders and cast-in-place concrete decks; furnishing and and installation of concrete barrier walls, approach slabs on field graded and wing walls at bridge ends; installation of Class V Finish on concrete surfaces; furnishing and installation of expansion joints and execution of test piling, for the construction of bridges for the Phase I of the Conway Bypass in Conway, South Carolina.
The segment from US17 to Carolina Bays Parkway consists of 6 lanes divided into three 12 ft. travel lanes in each direction, separated by a 46 ft. wide earth median. Bridge width is 50 ft. between parapets, consisting of three 12 ft. travel lanes, a 10 ft. outside shoulder and a 4 ft. inside shoulder. The segment from Carolina Bays Parkway to SC 90 consists of 4 lanes divided into two 12 ft. travel lanes in each direction, separated by a 42 ft. wide earth median. Bridges width is 38 ft. between parapets, consisting of two 12 ft. travel lanes, a 10 ft. outside shoulder and a 4 ft. inside shoulder. The segment from SC 90 to US 501 consists of 2 lanes with one 12 ft. (3.658 m) travel lane in each direction. Bridge width is 44 ft. (13.411 m) between parapets, consisting of two 12 ft. (3.658 m) lanes and a 10 ft. (3.048 m) shoulder on each side. There is a full interchange at US17 and diamond interchanges at SC 90, SC 905, US 701, SC 319 and US 501. Bridge lengths in these interchanges and separations are constructed to accommodate a future 4 lane divided Bypass. |
